The Musician

Enrique Infante is a native of Lima, Perú. He is a singer, songwriter, producer, author, and multi-instrumentalist. He co-wrote the music for a children's play, “El Árbol de la Huerta Perdida” (‘The Tree of the Lost Orchard’) in 1995, and a year later he toured Europe with Los Mojarras a famous Peruvian fusion band that recorded the soundtrack for the movie, "Anda Corre y Vuela" (‘Go, Run, Fly’), first prize winner for a developing countries film festival in 1996 in Germany.

In 1997 and part of 1998 he played guitar for a folk-Andean-fusion band named “Pukakuntur” (‘Red Condor’ in the native Inca language, Quechua). By the end of the same year he moved to Columbus, Ohio. In 2004, he formed his new project “Dejavu,” a Latin Fusion Rhythms band which led to the recording of his first album, "Abriendo Caminos" (‘Opening Paths’) in 2006 in Lima, Perú. That CD was released at the Columbus Music Hall on November 11 of the same year. Within the next few years, Infante was dedicated to promoting his music with several concerts in the United States, México and Perú, and paying tribute to some Latin-American artists.

By 2010 he received the, “Premio Orgullo Peruano” (‘Peruvian Pride Award’) as a successful artist living out of Perú. His song, “Colors of Columbus” was selected as one of the winners for the ‘200Columbus In Song Contest,’ in celebration of Columbus city Bicentennial. In the same year he founded “Escritores en Español.” With the help of distinguished writers like Juan Armando Rojas-Joo (poet) and Ani Palacios (novelist), Infante among other writers was selected to publish two short stories in the anthology "De una a siete" and a dozen of poems written between 2010 and 2013 published in anthologies of poetry. In May 5, 2012, Infante released his second album, “Canciones Ajenas” (‘Other People’s Songs’) and the following year he relocated to Houston, Texas. In October of 2014 he released a new single along with a music video, titled "El Detalle Que Faltaba." By December of 2016, he published a new single: "El Viaje" ('The Journey'). By March 7th, 2017 Enrique released his third studio album, “El Detalle Que Faltaba” (‘The Missing Detail’), self-produced alongside Colombian Leonardo Morales.

In 2018 he received an invitation to publish ten new poems in an anthology named: "Frescuras e Insolencias." During 2019, Enrique started a music collaboration with the renowned Peruvian songwriter and producer, Javier Lazo (for the Latin Grammy to Susana Baca).

His 30-year career celebration (2021) was postponed to be celebrated the following year due to health restrictions. By September, Enrique released a new single "The Sun Shines for Everyone" with a music video on YouTube. This was followed by its Spanish version "El Sol Sale Para Todos" that was released in December of the same year. Due to the pandemic and the difficult situation of not having enough live shows, he immersed into writing starting in 2020 and by the end of 2022 he has won some online song contests. Infante has written many songs with other songwriters based in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, México, Netherlands, Spain, Venezuela, and USA, just to mention a few. Most of these songs were written specifically for mainstream artists. Fortunately, some of these songs have been released and some others will be released within the next several months.

On September 29th, 2022, Enrique Infante celebrated his 30-year music career anniversary in a LIVE Acoustic show. He invited 15 friends to sing the selected songs on stage accompanied by his guitar. The show lasted three hours without breaks, while on the screen behind the artists, some images, and videos from so many years made the presentation more dynamic. Some of these videos showed the greetings for celebration from accomplished personalities in the music industry, such as Mónica Vélez, Manu Moreno, Ferra and Danny Aguiar, among others. Towards the end of the show, Enrique's mother could be seen waving on the screen.

Before the end of the year he returned to acting and was able to get a role in the play "Ya No Quiero Flores" (written by playwright Eduardo Henríquez) and directed by Salvadorian Geovanny Alvarado. The play premiered at the "Talento Bilingüe de Houston" theater. In November, Enrique Infante won two awards, third and fourth places, at the international Song Contest "EXPO COMPOSITORES" that was celebrated at a gala event in the city of México. These two songs were a written collaboration with other talented songwriters from different cities.

In May of 2023 Enrique Infante published his first poetry book title: "El ombú desterrado" (Editorial Verbum) Madrid, Spain, featured at the International Book Fair in Madrid. Before the end of the year, Enrique was the beneficiary of a scholarship to study Creative Writing at Universidad del Sagrado Corazón de Puerto Rico where he currently resides.

Enrique Infante is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP). He is also a voting member of NARAS (National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences) and LARAS (Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences), which produces the Grammy and the Latin Grammy Awards.

He has shared the stage with artists like Ruben Blades, Totó la Momposina, Tiempo Libre, Karlos Rosé, Toby Love, Miriam Cruz, Gilberto Santa Rosa, The Spanish Harlem Orchestra, Obie Bermúdez, Rosana, La Santa Cecilia, Celso Piña, Grupo Niche, and Willie Colón, among many others.

Enrique Infante nació en el Perú. Es cantante, compositor, productor, autor y multi-instrumentista. En 1995, co- escribió la música de la obra teatral para niños, "El árbol de la huerta perdida”, y un año más tarde viajó a Alemania con Los Mojarras, una banda peruana de rock-mestiza de fusión encargada de la banda sonora de la película, "Anda Corre y Vuela"; film ganador del primer premio de un festival de cine para países en vías de desarrollo en 1996, en el mismo país europeo. 

En 1997 y parte de 1998 tocó la guitarra para la banda de fusión folclórica andina llamada "Pukakuntur" (Cóndor Colorado) en quechua. A finales del mismo año se mudó a la ciudad de Columbus, Ohio, en los Estados Unidos, y en el 2004 formó fundó su propia agrupación: Dejavu Latin Fusion Rhythms, que lo llevó a la grabación de su primer álbum, "Abriendo Caminos", en 2006. Ese álbum fue lanzado en el Columbus Music Hall en noviembre del mismo año. Durante los siguientes años, Infante se dedicó a promover su música a través de muchos conciertos en los Estados Unidos, México y el Perú, además de rendir homenaje a diversos artistas latinoamericanos. El cantautor recibió en el 2010 el “Premio Orgullo Peruano” como artista exitoso que vive fuera del Perú. El 5 de mayo de 2012, Infante lanzó su segundo álbum, "Canciones Ajenas" y al año siguiente se mudó a Houston, Texas. En octubre del 2014 lanzó un nuevo sencillo junto con un video musical, titulado 'El Detalle Que Faltaba'. Para diciembre del 2016, publicó un nuevo sencillo: 'El Viaje'. El 7 de marzo de 2017 Enrique lanzó su tercer álbum de estudio, “El Detalle Que Faltaba”, coproducido junto al colombiano Leonardo Morales.

En el 2018 recibió una invitación para publicar diez nuevos poemas en una antología llamada: "Frescuras e Insolencias". Durante el 2019, Enrique inició una colaboración musical con el reconocido compositor y productor peruano, Javier Lazo (Por el Grammy Latino a Susana Baca). 

La celebración de sus 30 años de carrera artística (2021) se tuvo que posponer para celebrarse el año siguiente debido a las restricciones de salud. En septiembre, Enrique lanzó un nuevo sencillo: "The Sun Shines for Everyone" con un video musical en YouTube. A esto le siguió su versión en español "El Sol Sale Para Todos" que se estrenó en diciembre del mismo año. 

Debido a la pandemia y la difícil situación de no tener suficientes shows en vivo, el artista se sumergió en la escritura a partir del 2020, y para finales del 2022 ganó varios concursos de canciones vía internet y coescribió muchas canciones con otros compositores radicados en Argentina, Chile, Colombia, México, Holanda, España, Venezuela y USA, entre otros. La mayoría de estas canciones fueron escritas específicamente para artistas reconocidos mundialmente. Algunas de estas canciones ya han sido lanzadas y algunas otras verán la luz en los próximos meses. 

El 29 de septiembre del 2022, Enrique Infante celebró sus 30 años de carrera artística en un espectáculo acústico EN VIVO. Para esta importante ocasión invitó a 15 amigos y colegas de la música a cantar sus canciones en el escenario acompañados por él y su guitarra. El show duró tres horas sin descanso, mientras en la pantalla detrás de los artistas, las imágenes y los videos de tantos años le dieron más dinámica a la presentación. Algunos de estos videos mostraban los saludos de grandes personalidades de la industria, como Mónica Vélez, Manu Moreno, Ferra y Danny Aguiar, entre otros. Hacia el final del programa, se podía ver a la madre de Enrique saludando en la pantalla. 

Antes de terminar el año volvió a la actuación y pudo conseguir un papel en la obra "Ya no quiero flores" (escrita por el dramaturgo Eduardo Henríquez) y dirigida por el salvadoreño Geovanny Alvarado. La obra se estrenó en el teatro "Talento Bilingüe de Houston". En noviembre, Enrique Infante ganó dos premios, tercer y cuarto lugar, en el Concurso Internacional de la Canción "EXPO COMPOSITORES" que se celebró en un evento de gala en la Ciudad de México. Estas dos canciones fueron una colaboración escrita con otros compositores talentosos de diferentes ciudades mexicanas. 

En mayo del 2023 Enrique Infante publicó su primer libro de poemas titulado: "El ombú desterrado" (Editorial Verbum) Madrid, España, el mismo que fue presentado en la Feria Internacional del Libro de Madrid. Recientemente, Enrique ha sido galardonado con una beca para estudiar Escritura Creativa en la Universidad del Sagrado Corazón de Puerto Rico, en donde reside actualmente.

Enrique Infante es miembro de la Sociedad Americana de Compositores, Autores y Editores (ASCAP). Asimismo, es miembro votante de NARAS (Academia Nacional de Artes y Ciencias de la Grabación) y LARAS (Academia Latina de Artes y Ciencias de la Grabación), quienes producen los Premios Grammy y Latin Grammy respectivamente. 

Ha compartido escenario con artistas como Rubén Blades, Totó la Momposina, Tiempo Libre, Karlos Rosé, Toby Love, Miriam Cruz, Gilberto Santa Rosa, The Spanish Harlem Orchestra, Obie Bermúdez, Rosana, La Santa Cecilia, Celso Piña, Grupo Niche y Willie. Colón, entre muchos otros.
